The PADI Rescue Diver Course on Koh Phangan - is another step in your diving education. Now it’s the time to deepen your knowledge and skills with the PADI Rescue Diver course, during which you will learn how to assess the risks associated with diving, practice helpful self-rescue skills and learn how to anticipate and prevent potentially dangerous situations.

Under the guidance of your instructor you will learn how to:

- Quickly and efficiently search for and locate a missing diver using an underwater search pattern.
- Act in situations with a panicked and unconscious diver both on the surface and underwater
- Provide rescue breathing in the water, prevent dangerous situations both on the surface, during the dive and much more.

What are you going to learn on your PADI Open Water Referral course?

Theoretical part

Your theoretical part of the course starts with you watching the training video and reading through the PADI Rescue Diver manual. You will discuss all the key points with your PADI instructor and complete 5 knowledge reviews and the final exam.

Practical part, confined water

During one of the days you will practice all of the self-rescue and rescue skills in confined water. Some self-rescue skills are from your PADI Open Water Diver course, others will be completely new for you and will teach you how to deal with an emergency case.

Practical part, open water

You are going to repeat the skills that you learned earlier in an environment similar to real scenarios.
You will learn how to recognize and prevent emergencies and provide assistance to distressed or unconscious divers.
You will complete the practical training with «Rescue scenarios». During these your instructor will simulate certain emergencies and you will need to successfully accomplish the rescue procedures. This training and mastering of these skills will make you a confident rescue diver, who can rescue at any time.

PADI Open Water Diver course schedule on Koh Phangan

You will begin the study of the theoretical part on Koh Phangan, where you will receive study materials and all the necessary instructions in advance.

First day:

08–00 Check in to Koh Tao on Thong Sala Pier, Koh Phangan 
08–30 — 10–00 High-speed ferry Phangan - Koh Tao
10–00 — 10–15 Meeting with your instructor on Koh Tao
10–15 Departure to one of the dive sites for training dives (departure time may vary)
10–15 — 11–00 Briefing before the dive
11–00 — 12–00 Skills practice in confined water, self-rescue skills
12–00 — 13–00 Rest, briefing before the dive,
13–00 — 14–00 Skills practice in confined water
15–00 Return to Koh Tao, accommodation check-in.
16–00 — 17–30 Theory part (watching training video, knowledge review and test check)

Second day:

10–00 Departure to dive sites to perform the training dives (departure time may vary)
10–30 — 11–00 Briefing before the dive. First rescue training dive in open water
12–00 — 13–00 Rest, briefing before the second dive
13–00 — 14–00 Second rescue training dive in open water
15–00 Return to Koh Tao, theory and paperwork

Third day

10–00 Departure to the dive sites, briefing before the dive
11–00 — 14–00 Rescue scenario practice #1 and #2
15–00 — 17–00 Transfer Koh Tao - Koh Phangan

Continuing Scuba Diving Education

The next step in your continuing education is to become a PADI Master Scuba Diver. This is the highest level of recreational diving. You can also become a PADI professional which will allow you to work in the diving industry after completing the PADI Divemaster course. PADI specialty diver courses could be your other option in continuing your diving education.
