PADI Sidemount Diver Specialty

PADI Sidemount Diver Specialty Course in Thailand - Where do we wear scuba cylinders when we’re underwater? Since diving’s beginning, on our backs – it’s a natural, intuitive place to put them. But, as you’re about to discover, it’s not the only option. More recently, sidemount – carrying one or, more commonly, two (or more) cylinders along your sides – enjoy rising popularity among mainstream recreational and avid tec divers. Sidemount diving gives you flexibility and some streamlining options. Plus, you don’t have to walk with heavy cylinders on your back – just enter the water, clip them on and go. The PADI Sidemount Diver course covers the basic equipment requirements, setup, dive planning and skills you need to use sidemount for recreational diving.

In the PADI Sidemount Diver course, you learn to plan and make non-stop recreational dives using sidemount configuration for one or two cylinders. The emphasis is on enjoying the benefits of sidemount for recreational, no stop diving. What you’ll learn includes:

  • Sidemount equipment options
  • Sidemount setup (one and two cylinders)
  • Weighting and trim with sidemount
  • Gas management
  • Gas supply emergencies on recreational sidemount dives
  • Entry and exit techniques for sidemount
